His music draws from soul, jazz, funk, and R&B. His influences include: Stevie Wonder, D’Angelo, Donny Hathaway, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, and others.

In 2024, he was a semi-finalist on Season 26 of The Voice. On Team Reba, he was known for his “dirty soul” style and fun-loving attitude. Notable performances include: Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control,” Black Pumas’ “Colors,” and Chris Stapleton’s “Think I’m in Love with You.”

Early Life

Born on Long Island, NY, Adam was mostly raised by his mother, an English, Jewish writer. He moved all over the world with his mother and two siblings. He lived in Israel/Palestine as a young child and went to school in England. He did a stint in Houston before moving back to New York City in his 20s. After almost two decades in New York, he moved to Minneapolis with his wife where he resides today.

Adam loved music from an early age and participated in choir, barbershop, orchestra, and musicals in school along with his own bands. However, he was often told by his teachers in England that a career in music was not realistic. So, for a long time he pursued other possible career paths. After working as a bartender in New York City for many years, he made the decision to start playing music again in his late 20s.

Music Career

Adam’s New York based band On the Sun was formed in 2013. He met Dylan Charles playing at the Caffe Vivaldi open mic. They both liked each others’ music and formed On the Sun. In 2014 they released their first self-titled album On The Sun, which was recorded at the legendary Bunker Studios in Brooklyn. In 2018, the band released Gratuity Not Included, which was mostly recorded at Big Sky Studios in Ann Arbor, Michigan. On The Sun continued to perform and write new music. Their most recent singles are “Next Year” in 2020 and “Overexposed” in 2021. They hope to release new singles this year.

After moving to Minnesota in 2020, Adam started writing solo music and put together a Twin Cities based band. They frequently play around town at venues like Icehouse, Turf Club, Green Room, and others. In 2025 he released his first solo single with this band, “Open Your Heart.” Additional singles and a full album will be out later this year.
